Zach was sitting in the living room with Ember curled up in his shirt and lap as they watched cartoons. Nothing was on tv, so they were watching cartoons. And they weren't even the new ones, the older cartoons. He took a sip of his coffee, and held a bottle for Ember. He sat her up so that she was sitting up and gave her a bottle. Sydney was hopefully sleeping, and hadn't found in stash of alcohol that he said he got rid off that he didn't. he looked at the tv, and took another sip of his coffee.
he would be in deep shit if Sydney found that stash. Then again, maybe it could be used for a little bit of loving after Ember was asleep for the night. They hasn't had a night to themselves in forever. He looked down at the baby who was drinking her milk. He took another sip of his black coffee. He didn't know what time it was, and he wasn't going to look.
Once Ember was done with her bottle, Zach burped her and laid her back in his lap. She was small enough that she would fit in his legs when he sat crisscross. He was sitting that way too. She was playing with a block that made all different music noises and lit up. She loved that toy. Zach was glad that he bought that for her. She was playing with it, and talking to herself, some baby language at least, not English.
He watched her for a moment, playing with her hair and then looked back at the tv, he was slouched on the couch slightly, and looked at the tv. Ember was in a black and pink, of course Zach was the one that dressed her, footie sleeper, and he didn't feel like changing her after he got her diaper changed. He was in black sweatpants and a white shirt that was a little on the big side for him. He had bed head and didn't brush his hair yet.

she lives in a fairytale, somewhere too far for us to find,SO ONE DAY HE FOUND HER CRYING COILED UP ON THE DIRTY GROUNDher prince finally came to save her Sydney woke up early that morning and just seriously wanted to stay in bed. She knew that this day wasn't going to be the best one that had ever happened to her. And why should it? Just yesterday her and Zach were yelling and screaming at each other and she cried her eyes out. Which it didn't help that her eyelids were a little swolen from all the crying. Sydney stood up and looked just outside the door to see Zach with Ember and him watching cartoons. She laughed to herself quietly and then closed the door again.
Sydney fell back into the bed still tired as hell. And she had to go to school tomorrow. God she hated school but it was the only way she would make it somewhere in life. She also hated how she had to do everything. Plus her grandmother sending in a few bucks every month to help with the rent, and the baby. The tuition was already paid for and done. She would just get her bachelors. Sadly that day was three years away from now.
Sydney stood up and looked through the closet trying to find at least something decent to wear. Mostly because all she was wearing was her underwear and a spaghetti strap tank top. Sydney looked down and almost couldn't believe her eyes. She saw the stash that Zach said he had thrown out after the time he got drunk. She got a little upset but not enough to do anything. She figured she would have some right now. Just to wake her up. She grabbed the bottle and opened it. Looking over both her shoulders to make sure Zach didn't come in, she raised the bottle to her mouth and took a big drink. And strangely, the burning sensation of the alcohol felt really good traveling down her throat and into her stomach. And why shouldn't it? She hadn't drank sense the party.

Zach looked down at Ember as she laid in his lap. His stomach growled. He sighed. He picked Ember up, and put her on the ground. He looked at Chloe. "Make sure she stays there." He said to the dog. Not that Ember would be able to move anyway. She was only a month old, so she wouldn't start to crawl for another couple of months, then they were in trouble. He made himself another cup of coffee, and looked around. He took out a few eggs from the fridge.
He found a pan, and turned on the burner. He cracked the eggs into the pan and made himself an omelet. He looked at Ember every few minute, so was just on her stomach playing with her block. Wasn't she on her back when he put her down? Oh well. He watched the food cook, and took a plate and put his food on the plate. He smiled at Ember as she played on the floor. He put his food on the countar and wanted to go look if Sydney was okay. He walked into the bedroom and stared at her.
"What are you doing?" He asked. He watched her drink the vodka that he had stashed in the back of the closet. "Um.. You weren't suppose to find the alcohol." He said. He looked at her. He didn't know what to do. Why was she drinking it? He looked at her. "Um..." he looked away. He slowly backed out of the room and went back into the kitchen in his food, and sat down on the couch. He picked up Ember and took her block with her and put her back in his lap. Now that he knew that Sydney had her hands on the alcohol, he wasn't letting her anywhere Ember. He didn't know what she was like drunk, and at the moemnt he didn't want to know.

Sydney took another drink of the vodka. She smiled at how smoothly the alcohol ran down her throat. She bit her lip and finished the first bottle that she saw. She was ready for more. She knew that this would end up badly even with her drinking just a little bit of it. Beer didn't do much to her but hard liqior did. And of course that was the one thing Zach had to have stashed away in the closet. Though it was still wrecking at her brain to be pissed off since he didn't get rid of them when she first told him to in the first place. That made her a little bit irritated with him. She stood up at the sight of Zach "Yeah...I wasn't. I thought I told you to throw these out a while ago after you got drunk that one night..." She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at him. She has her hip out to the side in a stance that said 'you seriously need to start listening to me more or something is bound to happen that seriously shouldn't' she watched him leave. "Smart boy" She whispered to herself. She smiled and turned back down to the stash inside the closet.
Sydney took out another bottle and smiled. Opening it she drank it down. Somehow chugging small portions of it. She could tell her liver was trying to scream at her and tell her not to have any more but she couldn't help it. She hadn't had a good drink a while and it was very hard to resist right now. No wonder why Zach kept them. She smiled and felt herself tip to the side a little bit. Now she was at her 'buzzed' state where she could still what was going on but was close enough to being drunk she couldn't even stand up straight. She smiled and hiccuped. "Exxxxxxxxcuse may." She giggled like an idiot and began an attempt to stand up.
She stood up...well basically and tipped a little to the side. She giggled a little more like a stupid idiot and then started to walk out into the living room "Youuu knoww w-what i-i thinkk...youuu keppt t-this c-cause yourr justtt awweeesome" She laughed at her sounding so stupid. She couldn't help the enormous slurr that came to her voice when she talked. Sydney had no control of herself. She hadn't gotten drunk since she first started to drink when she was sixteen.

Zach said nothing for a moment. "I wasn't drunk. I was buzzed. You don't want me completely drunk. I turn violent. And unless you want to look like Hugo did after I got to him, you do not give me more then three beers, or anything." He had said before he walked out of the room. He held little Ember in his arms. No way was she going near the baby. If Zach had to, he would leave the baby on the couch and tackle Sydney to the ground and sit on her till she fell asleep if he had to. Though, he really didn't want to hurt her.
He watched the baby play with her toy, and he eyed the bedroom. he was just waiting for Sydney to come out. He didn't know what she was like drunk, and he wouldn't trust her. Then again, he was violent drunk that couldn't control himself if he was more then buzzed. He was an awful drunk. He learned this after she left and that was all he did, was drink. He wouldn't listen to anyone, and he would beat May when she tried to get him to do anything, like leave the house or anything.
"Sydney. You're drunk as fuck." He said calmly. He didn't move. He watched her, his blue eyes not blinking and watching her every move. "I kept the alcohol in case we wanted a night to ourselves and we left Ember with.. Hugo or someone. She likes kids right?" he said. He wasn't sure. But now he has seen her drunk, he was going to dump all of that alcohol, and get only one bottle and hide it somewere she would never look. Under the bed? With his cloths? He could always buy a safe. That would work.
"Love, I love you and all, but you're never getting alcohol again. Alright?" He said. He watched her, still not letting her come close to him, or Ember. Ember was giggling and playing with her toy. Chloe was watching Sydney too, growling slightly. Chloe would never growl. That only meant that she didn't trust Sydney at the moment. He got up, holding the baby close to him. He placed Ember next to Chloe, who stopped growling when Zach walked over. "Don't let Sydney near her, okay?" He said, Chloe wagged her tail and moved closer to the baby.
Zach turned to look at Sydney. He stood in front of the baby and the dog. He watched her. No way that he was letting her between him and Ember, while she was drunk as she was now.

Sydney giggled slightly and took another giant gulp of the vodka. "Y-youuu knnoww w-whatt?? F-fuck.." She laughed histerically at her saying fuck then continued "isss a verryyy verryyy bad word!" She said in a little kid voice. Zach was right though. She was drunk as fuck and she couldn't help it of course. NOt only did she drink too much but it was seriously effecting Zach's actions. She seriously saw him turn into a father, but she couldn't enjoy that moment by being drunk. it just ruined it. And it's not like she was planning to end up like this. Though Zach better think that he was lucky that she wasn't full on drunk. Because if she was she would waddle down to the bar and party and nothing could stop her. She was like the ultimate party girl when she was wasted...not necessarily a good thing...
Sydney walked towards Zach and held his shoulders "ohhh...you mean like to have.." She paused and then whispered "Sex?" She was snickering really hard and said "Y-you knoww thattt wee couldd still doooo thattt." She smiled widely and breathed in his face. Anyone would know that her breath smelled alcohol...badly. Her fresh mint breath from earlier turned out to be completely covered in the smell of alcohol.
She smiled and said in the most childish whyniest voices ever "but whyyyyyyyyyyyy???" She made a huge frowny face "But...but whyyyy??? That'sss nott fair!" She made a giant pout and slammed to the floor. With her arms crossed she sat cross legged on the floor and looked down having her bangs fall in front of her pouting face.

"So?" He said. He could hear Chloe growl as she walked to him. He didn't move and inch. When she put her hands on him, he turned his hand fast and twisted her wrists. "Don't touch me. I don't trust your at the moment." He said. Chloe stood up and stood by him, growling. "Chloe. Its fine. Just stay with Em." He looked down at the dog. The dog moved back to Ember.
"I'm not answering anything now." He said. He glared at her. "No." He said. Dear god, her breath smells gross. He pushed her face away from him. "Your breath smells gross." He said. He watched her, never taking his blue eyes off of her. Why was it that he didn't trust her? Oh yea, cause she was drunk and his baby girl was right behind him.
He watched her fall to the ground, and pout. "You won't win against me." He said. He sat down across from her, staring at her. So that was were Ember got the not blinking. Ember watched them from on her stomach. She wanted to be with her Zach, but she wasn't able to move. So, she started to scream. Chloe licked her and she giggled, then screamed again. He turned around and picked her up. She stopped screaming instantly and pulled on his hair. He pulled his hair out of her hands and he let her hold his finger in her hand.
He looked at her. "Life isn't fair. Get over it." He growled. He watched her, not looking at Ember, though he watched Sydney's body. She moved closer to him, he was going to tackle her. And he wasn't going to hold back as he should. He would hold her down and not let her move. Actually, if she even got up, she was going down. He didn't want her anywhere near people, or anyone.

Sydney sat there and looked at Zach. She was a little creeped out by his staring. She continued to hang her head though. She wouldn't say anything or move. She would just make grunting and whyning noises every once in a while. She watched him get up to go tend to Embers screaming. And of course being the daddy's girl she instantly stopped crying. She hated being drunk though. Hense why she never drank. She didn't know why she was on the ground in a want mood. Honestly she didn't even know what she wanted. So she was just there for nothing. All the alcohol took control of her brain. And the only thing that could snap him out of it he would have to bitch slap her or cause her physical pain for her to snap out of it. Which worked every time she was drunk. SHe would stop being drunk and just end up with a headache. All the common sense part of her brain was being drowned by all the alcohol in her system. All of a sudden she desperately needed to throw up.
She stood up quickly and ran into the bathroom and basically threw up her stomach. And strangely it started to snap her out of her drunk stage. She walked back to where Zach was and rubbed her head. And not being the smart girl she should be she walked more toward Zach, Chloe, and Ember. But then again she wasn't as drunk as before but she still wanted to act childish. Sydney rubbed her head in pain. And now her throat hurt. Some of her stomach acid had come out too. No it couldn't just be vomit..it had to be acid and part of her stomach. She grabbed her stomach that hurt like crazy. She lifted up her shirt to her belly button and rubbed her stomach. She was really glad at that moment that she was super skinny. She saw Zach with Ember. She was just about to get what she had coming to her, but sadly she didn't see that coming... and now she had to figure out how to explain to Zach she wasn't drunk that much anymore. Ok she was still a little buzzed but that was it...

Zach watched her, knowing that he was scaring her with his not blinking. Yet, he didn't care to much. "No." He said, every time that she whined or grunted. He looked down at Ember. He smiled at her, and kissed her head softly, the top of her head still soft. She giggled at him. She was the best baby that he could ever want. He had always wanted a baby girl, because they were so much easier to handle then boys were. He remembered an old home that he was in, he was fourteen and his foster mother had told him to babysit so she could go out to work. Though, he was stuck with twins. One boy, one girl. They were three then. You gave a bag of microwave popcorn to Claire, and she would go watch the Wiggles on tv. For Brian, you were chasing him all around the room, the house. Not apartment, house. Talk about having problems with boys.
He watched her move and started to move, when she ran into the bathroom. He sighed with relief. He didn't want to have to tackle her anyway. He was afraid that he would hurt her. He watched the baby now that Sydney was out of the room. Em had cuddled up in his lap and now wanted ot be on his chest. She reached up, so Zach leaned down and she grabbed his hair. "oww!" he cried. She had a strong grip for a baby. Girl or Boy, still strong.
He picked her up and held her against his chest. She cuddled up into his chest and he lied down so that she wouldn't fall. He glared at Sydney as she walked back in, if looks could kill you, Sydney would be dead. He watched her ever move, and apparently so did Chloe since she got up and sniffed her. She make a noise, like a bark and looked at the door. Zach watched them.
Ember looked at her father, she laid on his broad chest and watched his face. Her blue/gray eyes giving a sweet and innocent look compared to her father's. He was shooting daggers with his eyes.

Sydney could tell that Zach was going to be continuously serious about being this protective over Ember. And why shouldn't he? He was her father, she was his little princess and well he loved her to death and Ember can't stand not having daddy around. She walked over to the back side of the couch and fell over it landing on the couch laying down. She sighed and put her hand on her head. She had an enormous headache that felt like it was never going to go away. Or lighten up for that matter. She hated the way he looked at her though. He never looked at her that way unless he was pissed off at her. She would be drop dead on the floor right now if of course looks could kill. Which thank god they didn't.
Sydney looked at him and then looked back at the ceiling and waited for him to say something. But she knew it wasn't going to be that easy. She figured she ought to say something first "Ok I'm sorry I got drunk...it's just...ugh forget it i don't have an excuse." She said rolling over to her side on the couch. She seriously did feel really badly for being drunk, stupid, and just all around moronic when she was drunk. But she hadn't had a drink in so long it was like a five year old walking into the willy wonka factory.

Zach watched her. He was being over cautious about Ember, but she was his baby, his princess, his world. And no one was going to take that from him. Last night when she tried to, he nearly killed himself. He couldn't ever be apart from her. And she always wanted to be near daddy anyway. Though, when she was old enough to understand, they would have to tell her that her father would kill himself in a heart beat to help them. He would too. That was the thing. He would kill himself, if it was to make Ember's life better then her parents' lives were.
"Sydney, you scared me when I walked in to find you drinking. Do you know how hard that alcohol is? It has so much alcohol that on four bottles i would tear the house apart. That's how bad it is. I've never seen you drunk, and you've never seen me completely drunk. I mean, I was buzzed before, but I've been known to be violent. I beat May when she tried to take the alcohol from me when you left me." He said.
He looked at the baby. He smiled at her. She was still laying on his chest, watching everything that happens around her. "She gets the not blinking from me. I'm sure of it." He said. He blinked at the baby, who then blinked.

Sydney listened to Zach talk. But she didn't respond right away. yes she knew how hard that liqior was and she didn't exactly care right now. All she wanted to do now was fall asleep and forget about this whole incident. But there was her problem. Instead of working through things she always loved to just pretened that they could be just blown away in a few seconds. But in reality that didn't work out that way. She continued to lay on her side and look at the back of the couch and didn't say anything. She didn't want to talk, she didn't really want to do anything. She just wanted to lay there and pretend that she was asleep in a fantasy dream land where no one could get to her. She sighed and listened to him talk about the no blinking thing. And honestly like she was feeling before she really didn't give a shit. That was her reality right now.
Sydney felt so ashamed and just depressed right now for getting drunk and scaring Zach so much. And the thought of her actually scaring him was bad. Sydney was never a violent person. Well not physically. Just vocally and emotionally. Which of course they were both bad just...well they were both horrible and no way to get around them. Sighing she just laid there with her legs pulled up next to her while a tear rolled down her face slowly and softly.

Zach watched her for a moment, she didn't respond to him at all. Which wasn't a good thing on his part. He picked Ember up, and stood up, with her on his chest still. She giggled and looked around, then at her father. She gooed a few times and Zach just smiled. His baby girl was the best thing in his life, next to Sydney of course. He walked over to her and sat on the arm of the couch. "Sydney. I'm sorry for being over protective about Ember. I was just afraid what would happen." He said softly. Ember wanted her mother now. She reached down and took a tiny fist of her mother's hair and pulled.
"No! You do not pull hair" He said, taking Sydney's soft hair in his fingers and getting it out of Ember's grasp. He looked at her. "Are you crying?" He asked. He stood up and put Ember in the pack and play that they had, and walked over to Sydney. "Sydney. Come on. Talk to me." He said, nudging her in her back. When she didn't move, he took his arms around her waist and started to pick her up.
"I'm going to make you talk." He said. Ember made a noise and Zach's head snapped around. The pack and play was set up so that the baby was near the ground more then the top. He watched how Chloe had her noise pressed on the mess wall, and Ember hitting her noise and giggling. His grip on her hand loosened a lot, so she was able to get out of it if she wanted too.

Sydney continued to listen to him talk but she was still too ashamed to even say anything. She knew that he was being protective earlier and she was glad that he was. It showed her how careful he is now. She smiled at that thought. She heard him ask her if she was crying and was right next to her. When Ember pulled her hair she didn't do anything. She just laid there like a lump of crap.
She sighed and wiped the tear from her face. She felt him nudge her. Again she didn't do anything. She sighed and felt him try to pick her up. her eyes widened and grappled onto the couch. She knew that she wasn't going to win at that. He was all muscle and she was very very petite so she tried her best. And honestly when she wanted to be left alone she was stronger than you thought she could be. She gave resistance to him picking her up "NOO!" She said and pulled herself back down onto the couch. She was being stubborn but honestly she couldn't control it. It was just the way she was

Zach groaned. "Sydneyyy get uppp." He whined. He felt her pull away from him when he picked her up. He wasn't using any strength when he first tired. He sighed. He pulled her up, ripping her hands from the couch. "Look at me." He said sternly. He held her off the couch and off the turned her to look at him. He looked at her. "What's wrong. Tell me." He said strongly.
He looked at Ember as she giggled loudly. He smiled at her as she giggled as she hit Chloe's nose. He smiled at her. He looked back at Sydney. He pressed his lips against hers, and slowly put her feet on the floor, though he still had his hands on her. He was sorry for snapping at her, and not letting her anywhere near her. He really didn't mean to, but he wasn't sure why he did it.
He pulled away from her and hugged her tightly. He probably was hurting her, so he loosened his grip on her. He looked at her. "I'm sorry." He said. He rested his head on her's and watched Ember play with the dog.
